PERU: Over the Andes!
From the Pacific coast up to Machu Picchu and down into the Amazon jungle.

Please let me know soon if you may be interested. This is intended to be a small group of 10 travelers although there may be a second group leaving Lima on December 6. Those travelers could be back to your homes on December 18.
This tour is not exclusively "orchid or bird centered" although we'll experience the rich bio-diversity of flora and fauna from the Pacific coast to Machu Picchu and into the jungles of the Amazon region. We'll have the opportunity to meet the local people as we experience the architecture dating back to the 14th century.
Arriving in Lima we'll acclimate on the coastal plain.
Cuzco welcomes us near the summit of the Andes for 4 nights. We have a second day in the "Lost city of the Incas!" Machu Picchu.
Then we'll descend into the jungles of the Amazon headwaters. Traveling down the river will be an incredible finish to the vacation!
We'll pause again in Lima to relax for a day before flying home. You'll have an opportunity to shop for specialties of the local people.

The round trip international airfare from Miami was from $632 (on 5/1/2013 including taxes and fees). Our total "in country" expenses are estimated to be approximately $3500 which covers the three flights in Peru, ground transport/gate fees,hotels and meals. (Travel insurance, your spending money and tips are not included.)
***Travel insurance protects you during your travels and also if the you are not able to travel. This insurance is needed in order to travel unless you can provide proof that other insurance will cover you during your travels.
